I’ve been fired up about this for a while today. About 2 weeks ago I decided to go to the range and noticed my hand gun was missing. I looked around and didn’t for a minute think I took it out of my desk drawer where I kept it. I saw that the window was open and my screen was laying on the floor. At first I thought someone just broke in and took it, but then it hit me. I keep my desk drawer locked and the only 2 people who know the combination are my wife and my daughter. I knew my daughter had money trouble and had just recently purchased a very expensive handbag, so I asked her if she took the gun and sold it, and she confessed to taking it and selling it to buy a handbag. She said she was in a panic and didn’t know what to do and knew I kept it in the drawer. I was so mad, I didn’t even for a minute think about her stealing from me, but it also made me feel like a horrible parent. I decided to pay for the handbag and get my gun replaced. But I also made her sign something stating she would never steal from me again or it would be over. I don’t trust her anymore and don’t know how to get that trust back. I just hope she doesn’t tell her other siblings for they would be mad that I forgave her.

Edit: I forgave her and made her pay for the for the gun and then I also made her go with me to purchase a new one, and I had her sign for it.

Edit 2: I just wanted to say, I didn’t for a minute think my daughter would steal from me, and I have purchase guns for her in the past as I do for all my children. I didn’t say this to sound like a rich dad, but just as an example of how I spoil them. I don’t spoil them, but I just like to make sure they have what they need or would like from time to time. Maybe I spoiled her too much, but I don’t know. I just know I don’t trust her anymore.
