Is anyone else fed up with hearing people say "you'll change your mind"?

I get that some people are happy to have kids, which is great. But it makes me angry to hear them say "you'll change your mind". Why in the hell do they make the assumption that I'm just immature or inexperienced, and that I will come around the moment I have a kid? Why in the hell do they make the assumption that I'm just immature or inexperienced, and that I will come around the moment I have a kid?

Do they know that most of us in this chamber have already thought about this? Do they know that we have made the decision in our lives not to have kids after having thought about it?

I just recently went to a friend's house, and I am used to hearing him make anti-kid comments and jokes. Today, he wanted to fuck around with me and told me he's having a kid and that he's happy about it. After I was done being in shock, I told him that I'm not happy about it. I told him, "I'm sorry man. I'm not going to congratulate you. I'm the opposite of happy about this. You know how I feel about kids, and I'm worried about what it is going to mean for us as friends." I was expecting him to laugh and tell me he was just kidding. But he told me I was being immature, and that I would change my mind when I have a kid. I was shocked that he said this because I know he has previously made anti-kid comments and jokes.
