I’m not telling my kids to never hit girls

My son will be told the same thing I was told as a child. Never hit a girl. <br>He will also be told to never hit a boy or hit anybody at all. Never, ever hit <br>He will also be told to defend himself if he has to. <br>But I will never tell him it’s okay to hit a girl. Even if he’s being defended. He can kick, punch, knee, elbow, gouge eyes, but he will never be told hitting girls is okay, unless it’s to defend himself. <br>There’s a lot of people out there telling boys it’s okay to hit girls. And girls to hit boys. I am not one of them. <br><br>Edit: I thought I’d jump in here. This has certainly made a splash. <br>I guess the best example of what I’m trying to say is <br>Never hit a girl. <br>Never hit a boy. <br>Never hit anybody. <br>Never hit. <br>Except to defend yourself. <br><br>If you thought my post was about it being okay to hit a girl, you didn’t read it very carefully. It is never okay to hit a girl. I don’t care if she’s hitting you, don’t hit her back. Run away. Go find an adult. Tackle her to the ground and hold her until someone comes. Do not hit her. <br>Don’t hit, ever. <br>It’s never okay to hit.
