My ex’s friend was not a nice guy

I dated a girl a few years ago and let’s call her Gigi. Gigi and I dated for about a year and half and lived together for about 4 months. <br><br>My dad was not a fan of Gigi. He thought she was too clingy and controlling which was true but I thought she was perfect and I tried to prove my dad wrong because I thought he just hated Gigi.<br><br>I remember Gigi telling me about this friend she had that was always trying to get with her. A lot of guys were trying to get with her and I trusted her. She said he was a friend from high school and they remained friends because he was very friendly and nice to people. She said they remained friends even after he tried to get with her but that was when they were younger. <br><br>One night, when Gigi wasn’t home, I had a missed call from some random number. When I answered, it was Gigi on the phone and she was going through some bad stuff with her parents. She was upset and I could hear in her voice that she wasn’t okay. She said her friend that I mentioned earlier was going to help her deal with it. I remember being uncomfortable about that and she reassured me that he was just a friend and he had no feelings for her anymore. I trusted her. <br><br>That night, I got another call from Gigi. She sounded different and I could hear her friend in the background. I asked her if she was okay and she paused a bit and said yes, she was just sad and needed to hang out with her friend. I said okay and tried calling her but she didn’t answer. I went to sleep and waited for her to come home. <br><br>The next morning, Gigi was home and I asked her about the calls and she looked really upset. She told me that her friend told her that she’s a slut for living with a guy that she’s not engaged or married to. She said her friend told her that she’s better off hanging out with him instead of me because I was using her for sex. She said that he also called her a slut for having sex with her ex when she was still in high school. I told her that he was stupid and he was jealous. She said that he’s not jealous but she just needed some help with how her parents were treating her. I told her that he wasn’t a friend and that I didn’t want him around. She looked terrified and told me that he was just trying to help. She said that she would be too embarrassed to tell anyone else. I told her that I didn’t want him around and she agreed but I could tell that she was scared of telling her friend that I don’t want him around. <br><br>The next night, when Gigi left to go to the grocery store, I decided to go with her because I wanted to make sure she was okay. She wasn’t okay and I wanted some quality time with her. When we were driving to the grocery store, I noticed a car following us and Gigi noticed too. She looked petrified. She told me once her friend followed her home when she left my house but she didn’t tell me because she didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. I told her it was a big deal and I was going to confront him and tell her to leave us alone. She started crying because she was scared. <br><br>I pulled over and the car that was following us pulled over too. It was her friend and he came out looking angry. He looked at Gigi and said that she was going to ruin his life with her mistakes. I told him that he was the one was going to ruin his life if he didn’t leave us alone. He came towards me and tried to punch me but I dodged him and he busted his lip open. I told him that if he came near us again, I would beat him to death. He said that I was forcing Gigi to lie to him. I told him that he was the one that was forcing us to lie to him. He said that I was the reason that Gigi’s parents were so upset. I said that she wasn’t a piece of property that he could control. He told me to leave Gigi alone because she was going to end up dead if she remained with me. I grabbed Gigi’s hand and told her that we needed to leave but her friend was angry and he proceeded to smash my car window. Gigi started crying and when my dad saw her crying, he knew something was wrong. He asked us what was wrong and Gigi told him everything. My dad was angry that we didn’t tell him about it because he said he warned us that Gigi wasn’t a good girl. He told me that he was going to fix that situation for us and I told him to be careful. <br><br>My dad went to Gigi’s house and told her friend’s parents what happened. They said they didn’t know and they were going to take care of it. Gigi’s friend was angry that his parents found out and he tried to break into my house because Gigi was staying at her parents house. That’s when my dad beat him up really bad. I remember waking up because my dad was saying let’s go because a piece of shit broke into the house. I saw my dad beating him up and I was so angry. I tried to help but my dad said it wasn’t my fight and he’s a child. He told me to go back to sleep and he will take care of it. <br><br>Gigi’s friend was in the hospital for a long time and we never saw him again after that. Gigi’s and my relationship ended because we realized we weren’t compatible and we were growing apart but it was a pretty bad experience.
