We had nothing to lose. One slow Tuesday morning at the office, with our desk work whittled away to nothing but dust, my co-workers and I made a list. We found a website called Indiegogo, in which people can raise funding for their projects. But instead of making projects, we made a list of ridiculous things we would do to earn money. As we worked facetiously, we imagined what could happen if we actually followed through on our list. We took it seriously, and made ourselves a promise. The moment it was funded, we were going to follow through. We accidentally raised thirteen thousand dollars. Now we’re taking this list and checking it twice. The list was compiled. And we’re going to cross everything off. We’re going to buy the world's largest candy cane on an airplane and eat it all. We’re going to ride the Sky-Flyer with our eyes closed for thirty minutes. We're going to purchase an over-sized lollipop and spin it around in a circle for 24 hours. We’re going to pull a muscle in a contest over who can laugh the loudest at a single joke. We’re going to purchase an alligator meat sandwich and eat it while watching the movie Alligator. We’re going to buy the world’s most expensive prepaid phone card and make prank phone calls. We’re going to pull the world’s longest practical joke. And we’re going to make sure we’re taking it easy and not getting too facetious with our antics. We’re going to take it easy, yes. Just like the list said. We’re going to take it easy. But we’re going to take it easy for the rest of our lives. After all, the list said facetiously, with over thirteen thousand dollars, we’re going to purchase an island nation and become royalty. And we’re going to make sure the laws to our new nation are very simple. The rules were few. But the rules were strict. One. Indiegogo. Two. Indulge. Three. Indistinct. Four. Indulgence.
