These updates include increasing the amount of income and resources SSI recipients can have, allowing them to better save for emergencies and participate in their communities, while also protecting their eligibility for vital monthly benefits.<br><br>The Executive Order directs the heads of agencies to consider the following actions as they implement the Supplemental Security Income Restoration Act:<br><br>Ensure immediate access to SSI benefits for individuals who have been unjustly denied or terminated from benefits due to waiting out penalties related to excess resources.<br><br>Review and revise policies, programs, and agency guidance to ensure consistency with the Supplemental Security Income Restoration Act.<br><br>Consult with other agencies to identify opportunities to promote program coordination and consistency in implementing the Supplemental Security Income Restoration Act.<br><br>Consult with other agencies to identify opportunities to engage with stakeholders and conduct outreach and education to ensure effective implementation of the Supplemental Security Income Restoration Act.<br><br>Consult with other agencies to identify opportunities to promote access to economic opportunity and address poverty in the United States.<br><br>Consult with other agencies to identify opportunities to assess the impact of the Supplemental Security Income Restoration Act and report on lessons learned and outcomes.<br><br>The Supplemental Security Income Restoration Act will help over 8 million disabled, blind, and elderly Americans and their families who rely on SSI benefits for basic needs such as food, rent, and healthcare. Today's Executive Order reflects the Administration's continued commitment to protecting and strengthening Social Security and ensuring that the Supplemental Security Income Restoration Act is implemented effectively and efficiently.
