I just started carrying a gun to our group therapy sessions. We all have psych issues, so we decided to carry ourselves, instead to pay our therapist to carry for us.

We’re all lower middle class with a bunch of mental health problems, and everyone says we need to carry more. But we don’t have enough money for self-defense training or a gun and to pay our therapist to carry for us.

We’re all pretty much to the point of mental health crisis, so we’re just doing group therapy and looking after each other at this point.

So we’re carrying at our group therapy sessions to make sure to have to pay for one less armed therapist. We’re all happy, and we know we all have each other’s backs.

Edit: I have a diagnosis of PTSD and severe depression. My best friend has bipolar disorder. It’s important not to perpetuate stigmas. It’s gross to to use language like “crazy.” There’s nothing wrong with us, any more than someone would be with diabetes or high blood pressure. We can’t help that we have mental health problems. We are all people who are suffering with mental health disorders, and we’re people who are doing our best to help ourselves and our friends. In the United States, saying we are “crazy” or dangerous is perpetuating stigmas. It’s gross and it needs to stop.

We carry because all of us have PTSD and have been stalked or threatened, not because of any mental health issues. Do some research, if you’re this ignorant.
