The USA suicide hotline is terrible and shouldn’t be promoted.

I know a bunch of doctors and celebrities and pretty much everyone else is all for giving just about everyone the number to the suicide hotline and pretending they are helping.<br><br>The suicide hotline is unhelpful and barely even exists as anything more than someone to talk to for 5 minutes who will then tell you to call 911 so they don’t get held liable if you kill yourself after. <br><br>They literally send you a survey after sometimes to see if they helped you. <br><br>I’ve called them before and felt worse after then before. I’m not saying there isn’t someone in the world who can’t get help from them, but the way they’re held up as this bastion of hope for people in need of help is laughable and in the long run makes people who already can’t see the point in living feel even smaller and more useless. <br><br>If you’re feeling that way, please reach out to a human being, not some impersonal line that will do nothing for you. <br><br>Feel better, internet strangers.
