CMV: The internet and the use of "societal" as a descriptive word

I am of the opinion that the internet particularly social media has been the downfall of many a conversations. Yes some people have silly opinions, and are dumb, however that is a small minority. Politicians, big companies, and people with their own agendas use the internet as a vehicle to actually make these people worse. Also these people who apparently make up the majority of society. As if I am crazy for not supporting Trump or wanting Boris as my prime minister. apparently the majority of society as a whole supports them. Politicians, companies, and interest groups use social media to create echo chambers to mould people to have certain opinions and create a false majority. Social media companies who also apparently care about their users let these people use their platforms to do this. From my point of view all this creates is echo chambers, hatred to people who have a different point of view as well as the polarisation of silly opinions to the forefront of society. once again i think the internet, and the use of such words is the downfall of all this.<br><br>As the title states CMV: The internet and the use of "societal" as a descriptive word is the downfall of many a conversation and the moulding of people opinions<br><br>EDIT: as a side note, silly opinions might make a minority but they are the ones that are at the forefront of a lot of peoples minds
