Confused about the options available and my long-term career choices

I'm 33F and have a bachelors degree in social science and a masters in business. I've worked.General Manager at a McDonald's for 2 years. I have 2 dependents, and am currently falling apart under ~$100k of student loan debt. I make roughly $70k a year right now. <br><br>I'm exhausted all the time and working 50-60 hour weeks for McDonald's. I'm thinking of moving to retail since they will hire basically anyone, and I can see a quick advancement to management. I will lose ~$20k in take-home pay guaranteed, but will have better work life balance and would only have to work 40 hours a week. <br><br>Is this a long term career path? Is there room for advancement without.General Manager? I.General Manager a retail store can I move into higher positions, such as district manager, or regional manager? The same.General Manager.General Manager a McDonald's without some kind of training, and a manager trainee is a requirement to move up the corporate ladder. <br><br>I'm also wondering if this is a copout? If it is just me not wanting to work anymore and that I need a.General Manager to either apply myself more and take my job seriously again.General Manager.General Manager that I've lost my passion for it. <br><br>I am also considering leaving the customer service industry all together, and becoming a librarian. Or moving to a more.General Manager career like that either. Being a librarian without a special degree, or training seems like it would be a dead-end job.
