My parents both got pregnant in their early 20s, when they were both still in college and not financially stable. They acknowledged it was a big mistake to get pregnant at a young age, but they always made clear that it was the *pregnancy* that was a mistake, not us.

I always felt bad for people whose parents straight-up acknowledged that they were not expecting to have children and that the pregnancy was an accident. Those acknowledgments can be very hurtful.

Share your thoughts about this, and please be aware of triggers.
