I wish I had a friend

I want to be able to have a friend to text when I'm bored or when I need someone to hang out with. I want to have a friend to talk to at lunch, to sit together at parties, to go shopping together, to go to the gym together. I don't have a friend like that. I have a lot of acquaintances, but no one I'm close to. Every time I try to get close to someone they seem to lose interest.
