It's completely okay to care more about issues in your home country than other countries

It's okay to NOT care about world issues and instead care about issues in your own country first and foremost.

I'm British, and I care more about the NHS than healthcare in other countries. I care more about the British legal system and police system than other countries. I care more about the waters in Cornwall being polluted than the waters in other countries being polluted. And that's okay.

I can't do anything about country X's legal system being corrupt, and I probably know very little about it and probably wouldn't even know where to start helping. I can help the NHS by helping in a local capacity - volunteering in local hospitals, donating blood, and so on. This also means I need to understand *why* the NHS is important, which I can only do properly by relating it to my day to day life and experiences.

Obviously countries have different laws, different environments, different cultures, history, and people, which is why I think it's a lot better to focus on your specific home country's issues compared to other countries; you will have more knowledge on home country issues, and more experience with them, which will make you better equipped for being a positive influence in society in terms of those issues.
