If you’re ever invited into a rich person’s house just enjoy the free food and be grateful, don’t complain about their wealth or try to lecture them

I once met a guy and his dad who were both multi millionaires, (they owned a successful large scale business together) and they invited me to their house. They were really nice people and treated me with respect but they were definitely wealthy. They had a six figure sports car in their driveway, an indoor pool inside their house, a large backyard with a tennis court, a big kitchen full of appliances and a collection of expensive-looking art on the walls.

Their full-time housekeeper made us delicious food which we ate in their dining room. They had invited me to their house because at that time I was eyeing their daughter, and when we were talking together on our own she was making it obvious that she was attracted to me. So I think they were hoping that I could become their son-in-law ever.

Over a meal they asked me what I study and when I told them I replied that I studied economics, and then they started asking me questions about the economy. I answered them and they were satisfied with my answers and then they asked me more questions about it. Then after a while my answers started to sound like a list of things that I wish the government would do, such as raising taxes on the wealthy so that we can invest more in public healthcare and schools. They started raising their voices in disagreement and told me that raising taxes stunted economic growth and this is why the Nordic countries have hardly any billionaires despite being rich. They were growing more and more angry and finally they told me to leave their house and never come back. I wasn’t surprised but I said I was sorry and told them I wasn’t trying to offend them and I got up off my chair and walked to the front door. Their daughter was upset that they kicked me out and she started yelling at them. She went after me outside and hugged me and kissed me. She told me that it was all ok and that she was still interested in dating me, although I never saw her again after that.
