My dad has been in a hospital for almost a year. For over 6 months he was delusional, and has since "come back to reality", but is now convinced he's in a simulation. I don't know what to do

This is a bit off topic, but I don't know anyone IRL who would understand if I shared this with them. So here goes.

My dad has been in a hospital for almost a year, and for most of that he's been delusional. For example, he thinks that when we go to visit him he believes that he's actually the one visiting us. I don't know what this is a symptom of (he was in an accident which required a brain surgery, and now he's been in the hospital for almost a year), but it's been a living nightmare for our family.

But then out of nowhere he stopped being delusional. The problem is that he's now convinced he's living in the matrix, and that he discovered this when he was delusional for the last six months. He says that he was "away" for so long that the simulation "glitched", thereby allowing him to see the world for what it actually is: a simulation of reality. He says when he was delusional he was actually in a "purgatory" where he could see who/what was pulling the strings, both in our world and in the "real world" outside of this simulation. For obvious reasons, I won't post exactly what he said, but suffice it to say that the stories he's told make my skin crawl. I don't care if any of you believe me, idgaf if you think this is a troll post, I'm just looking for advice. How do I get him back?
