AITA for asking her not to come? (Sept 29 Edit)

Wasn’t sure if I should post here but I wanted to know about the perspective of a different audience so here I am.<br><br>So basically my friend (M30) and I(M30) have been planning a trip to Japan for almost 2 years now and for the most part things have worked out well.<br><br>I have known myself and my friend for 25 years now and he has been Dating his GF(W27) for 3 years now.<br><br>The trip is for the middle of November and last minute gf now wants to go on the trip? Some context his gf has recently just started her new job and has no annual leave for the rest of the year and she doesn’t want him to go on the trip? He messaged me to tell me about the whole situation and my response was “Please don’t tell me your gonna let her dictate your life right?”<br><br>His response was “I don’t know if I have a choice!”<br><br>He really did sound like he had no choice smh<br><br>To make things worse he’s been talking about this trip for years! <br><br>Anyway he ended up telling me he would not be coming and I was annoyed at first but then his father reached out to me saying that his gf threatened to dump him if he went on the trip and his father wasn’t happy about it but my friend really does love her and he’s willing to do anything for her.<br><br>In all honesty I’m not really sure what to do now? He really did look forward to it. <br><br>AITA for trying to persuade him to go?
