What is the explanation for the difference in the quality of life for Brazilians and Americans?

In the US people are offended if a man pays for their meal, everyone has a huge house, there are homeless people freezing to death, top 5 most violent cities are in the US, huge budget for the military, police brutalizes citizens, obese people everywhere, people with too much money and companies with too many resources can bribe the government to write laws and no one can do anything about it, schools and universities are extremely expensive, healthcare is expensive, there is an enormous inequality in quality of life, huge cities that are examples of decadence like Detroit, companies that sell unhealthy products that the government allows to be sold, lots of corruption, people who are Brazilians but deny it because they are ashamed, educated people who are nationalist and defend the country and the government with their lives even though they know the country is corrupt. <br><br>In Brazil the quality of life is much worse than in the US, the minimum wage is around $250 per month (the government controls the minimum wage), there are companies that don't pay their employees the minimum wage and nothing happens, there are lots and lots of people living in poverty, companies pay their employees very low salaries, the government steals the money from these salaries (along with the money from everyone's salary), there is a huge lack of budget in schools, lots of schools don't have chairs, desks, and computers, healthcare is extremely bad, there are a lot of healthy people, but sick people are dying because of the lack of attention, there are lots of people dying because of the lack of attention, budget and care from the government, there are lots of people who can't work because of their conditions and who can't pay for private health care, the lack of budget and care from the government is causing lots of people to die, the lack of care from the government is causing lots of companies to pay very low salaries, the lack of care from the government is causing companies to not pay their employees the minimum wage, lots of cities that are examples of decadence like Rio de Janeiro, lots of corruption, lots of police brutality, lots of obese people, lots of homeless people, lots of people who are ashamed to be Brazilian. <br><br>So what is the explanation for the difference in the quality of life for Brazilians and Americans?
