I was on a plane that disappeared

Ok, so you must have heard of that new documentary about Malaysian flight 370. It’s meh, but it did make me think a lot about my experience.

Back in 2019 I (46F) traveled to Asia, to visit an old friend. I took a morning flight (I don’t remember the name of the airline, or the time, it’s been a while). It was your standard morning flight from the USA to Asia.

Before I took the flight, I had a strange dream. I don’t remember it very well, but I remembered being scared. So when I got on the plane I felt uneasy. The flight attendants were very nice and comforting, but it wasn’t really helping. Takeoff was fine however, and I quickly was able to sleep.

I was woken up by a stewardess, who was telling me to put my seat upright for landing. I was a bit confused, because I thought the flight was supposed to last longer, but I was too tired and still drowsy from the sleep to question it.

I looked out the window. Nothing. The lights flickered for a moment then went off. I heard some noise, and the plane shook. I heard someone scream, and then the lights came back on.

Everything seemed normal. I looked around and saw that a passenger next to me passed out from shock. I shaked him up, and he seemed to be fine. I asked him if he knew what happened, and he said a flight attendant told him that there was turbulence and the captain is going to give us an announcement.

A few minutes later the captain talked through the speakers and was apologizing for the delay. He said we would be landing in 10 minutes. 10 minutes passed and nothing. The lights flickered, and you could feel the plane shaking. It felt like we were landing, but nothing happened. 10 more minutes passed, and the captain talked again. This time he seemed a bit scared, and was telling us to buckle up because there would be more turbulence. This made me very scared because the voice of the captain is supposed to be comforting.

I looked out the window, and saw a light. It was very faint, but I saw it. I remembered my dream, and it felt very similar. My dream was me waking up on a plane and seeing a faint light. I felt a sense of familiarity. I was so scared but somehow I knew everything would be fine. The faint light got bigger and bigger, and the plane shook a lot. I heard another passenger scream, and then the plane stopped shaking. I looked out the window and saw the airport. We were landing.

We landed safely, and I felt a sense of relief. I was a bit confused though. I tried to ask a flight attendant what happened, but she seemed scared and didn’t answer. I got off the plane, and everything seemed normal. I picked up my bag, and called a taxi. I was planning to call my friend, but I was still very shaken so I decided to call my mom. She asked me when I was going to land, and I told her I landed. She seemed confused, and told me that my plane hasn’t landed. I told her that I just landed, and she laughed. And then she told me something that made my blood run cold: “You took off six hours ago, and it’s 2am. Its nighttime.”

I asked her to check the news, and she told me my plane has gone missing. I told her I’m standing in the airport, and she didn’t believe me. I told her to call my friend, and ask him to pick me up, and she did. As I was waiting for my friend, everything started making sense. The emergency landing wasn’t real. The turbulence wasn’t real. It was all a dream. And I knew this wasn’t the first time. My dream, it was a memory. I remembered waking up on the plane, and I remembered the light. And I remember landing. Its the only time I’ve ever been on a plane that landed twice.

I was picked up by my friend, and I never got a call from the airline that I was missing. And no one believed me. I didn’t believe myself either. But deep down, I know this happened. I landed twice on that flight.

EDIT: thank you for all of the responses, but please lets not turn this into a debate about whether what I said here is true. That said, thank you all for your kind comments. Please note that I haven’t read all of the comments, and I will not respond to any comments.
