How do I get into cooking?

How do I know what to look for in a recipe? How do I even search for a recipe? I don’t like vegetables. I’m tired of just cooking asparagus or broccoli and a piece of chicken. I hate it. I want to make more substantial meals but I don’t know how to get started. I’m tired of scrambled eggs as my go to breakfast. I’m just tired of the same old. I want to cook. I’m just not sure how to even get started.

Edit: I guess I want to go after comfort food. I was after that same feeling I get when I eat a grilled cheese sandwich. I even did go after the recipes from asparagus and broccoli. They were not appetizing.

Edit 2: I know I sound stupid. I’ve been stuck in a rut and recently have moved and I know I’m in the midst of depression. I know it’s hard. I even went after my least favorite vegetables and want to make something more substantial. I have always seen cooking as an afterthought. I’m not stupid. I’m just not sure how to get out of this slump and want to cook something more substantial and delicious.
