Okay, so I am reading a paper about the studies of writers and the mind, and I am curious about one thing. What is the mental process you go through in writing? Is it like the words just come straight to your mind? You need a drink to get the creative juices going? You need to be drunk to get the most uh... creative thoughts? You need to be under the influence of something? (I am not saying you should be high or anything, please do not do that, but that is one of the things I am wondering). You need to be relaxed, you need to sit in a certain position, you need to sit with your legs in a certain shape, and so on. Please, I am curious. Any help would be great.

EDIT: I am getting my PhD in psychology and one of the studies I am paper is on is how the mind works in writing. I have written books and I have been writing since I was 9, but I am curious as to how others go about writing. This is for my thesis paper.

ANOTHER EDIT: I do not mean you should be drunk, but what you do to get yourself in the writing mindset. This is part of the studies I am doing. You studies many writers and what they do before they write, and many writers do drugs, and that is what I mean. I do not mean you should be under the influence, and I am sorry for any confusion.

YET ANOTHER EDIT: I am sorry if my post offended you. It is not that I want you to be drunk all the time, but some of the greatest authors were drug addicts or alcoholics. I am not saying drugs or alcohol is the answer, but I am curious as to what you do to help you get in the mindset to write. I do not know if I am doing it right. I do not know if I am being normal. I do not know if I am being part of the stereotype. I am sorry if my post offended you. Please, I am sorry. I am not trying to offend you.
