How do i breed 2 cats who arent already mates?

I have 2 cats I dont think are mates but I want to breed. They are not related to each other. <br><br>One cat is a semi-longhair ( alleles are Ll) and the other cat is a longhair ( alleles are LL)<br><br><br>The semi-longhair has a piebald pattern, is torbie and has one blue eye and one amber eye. ( so she carries blue eye and amber eye, the blue eye is the eye with the white patch)<br><br><br>The longhair has solid black coat and amber eyes but she does carry torbie. ( Her parents were torbie and black). <br><br>I know that piebald is recessive and the longhair’s solid coat is dominant. But what complicates this is the torbie pattern is also recessive but the torbie allele is also part of the piebald locus ( the genetics are a bit confusing). But I dont think theyre truly mates because I believe semi-longhair is recessive to longhair, which is a different locus. <br><br>Long story short, I dont know if they are mates or not, but I want to breed them.<br><br>So my question is, how do I create a new pair bond between them? <br><br>Currently they dont fight but they dont like each other either, they are tolerant of each other’s presence but do not interact much.<br><br>I do not want to alter them. <br><br>I’m thinking maybe putting them in the same enclosure and giving them some time to get to know each other?
