I have to choose between a lucrative career path or one that will allow me to pursue hobbies?

I'm a CS major and I'm hoping to get into cloud computing, the job prospects are great and compensation is great. The problem is, I've read some stories about cloud computing salary being great but the working hours are super long/one has little time for a social life, a reason being that one will have to keep their skills up to date. However, I enjoy reading and basketball, how will I have time to do this? I'm also afraid to pursue other career paths because I don't want to sacrifice social/financial security. What do I do?
