The whole purpose of chatgpt is to provide people that are not good in coding to be able to write code. It does what you intend to do, but that does not make it an AI. The most worked on programming language has been in place for a long time, and the compiler has been in place since the 80s. So the only thing that has been done at openai is the fact that they have used the compiler to make it capable of writing code by using machine learning to generate new code on its own. This is amazing and will change the way that software is made. But is it a sentient AI that can think for itself? No.
