I am no longer a feminist

I used to be a feminist; I used to believe in gender equality. I used to believe that women should be allowed to do whatever堰 wanted to do. I used to believe that women should be treated as equals; I used to believe that women should be treated like people.

Then, I had a miscarriage.

My partner and I were thrilled to learn that I was pregnant. We had wanted this for so long, and it felt like a dream come true. We both cried tears of joy when we found out. We had a daughter.

Just after the first trimester, I miscarried. I no longer had a daughter.

It was then when I learned that my body was not my own. All of a sudden, my body was a political battleground. Countless harassing messages and death threats. I was the evil "baby killer." Feminists even started attacking me, just for being a pregnant woman.

Feminists were telling me that I should abort. I was not a feminist anymore. It seemed so simple at the time, and just as simple years later. Feminists did not fight for women’s rights, feminists fought for women’s "freedom".

It is now 2024.

It is now illegal for women to get abortions. Before, feminists at least had a choice. Now they don’t. Now, feminists are angry at the government, and the people who made this happen. My messages are still flooded with feminists telling me I should abort. I am no longer pregnant.

I guess this is a victory for the pro-life movement.
