What would happen if Duolingo was free forever for everyone?

I'm a huge fan of Duolingo, but the last few years have been kind of terrible for Duolingo Plus. First they removed the ability to earn Plus forever by watching ads, but as long as Duolingo gets some money, who cares? Then they added Plus Family, which lets multiple accounts use Plus for less than the price of a single Plus account. I restored my faith in Duolingo. Then, they removed the ability to earn Plus by watching ads, but they brought back the free trial. Then they restricted the number of ads you could watch to get Plus for free. Then, a few months ago, they brought back the ability to earn Plus by watching ads, and they removed the restrictions on the number of ads. I'm just excited for whatever Duolingo has in store.

Anyway, back to the question at hand. What would happen if Duolingo was free forever for everyone, for both individuals and organizations?
