Why is everyone so obsessed with money?

Pretty much everything I read online is about how to get rich quick or how to save money or why to never spend money on this or that.<br><br>I dont need this kind of content. I just want to make enough to live. I dont need a bunch of extra money. I dont want to live in a small house just to save a dollar each month. I dont want to do all my shopping at walmart just to save a dollar.<br><br>I get it that for a lot of people money is a big issue but how is this sub the most popular sub on reddit. Why is everyone so obsessed with saving money? I think I have to let go of my need for security and learn to live life and stop worrying about money.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>Edit: Some really good replies in here. Thank you for the discussion. Yes I realize frugal living is called frugal living but it seems like a lot of people that call themselves frugal have this attitude that everyone should be frugal or that everyone else has the money situation that they have and that saving money should be everyone's focus. <br><br>Sometimes you are making more money than you realize.
