You do not need a back patio in your 30s

I hear people talk about having a back patio with furniture and plants and decorations on it as part of the traditional package of things you’re supposed to have in your 30s and I think that’s just kind of BS. In reality, that’s probably a $1000 that most people could use for things like groceries and gas money. I had a very nice patio set in my early 20s and it was a hassle to clean and store the thing. I have a backyard right now and I don’t bother putting my furniture out there because I don’t want to have to bring it inside every night to prevent it from being damaged by the weather. You don’t have to have the patio. It’s not a status symbol that’s expected of you.
