I was freezing cold. My hands and feet were numb from the cement, and the wind was biting at my skin. I shivered, but I didn’t have any other choice.

It had to end.

I looked over my shoulder at the 15-meter drop beneath me. I took a deep breath, and I closed my eyes. I would just jump, and it would all be over.

I didn’t know how long I lay there. It could have been seconds. Hours. Days. I was frozen in place. But I had to do it. I knew that much. I swung my legs over the edge, and with a deep breath, I let go.

I felt weightless, and my stomach rumbled. It seemed like forever until I finally hit the water, and it wasn’t just water.

I landed on something.

It was hard and sticky. A branch maybe. I groaned and opened my eyes, and everything hurt. I was dazed, but I could see that I was still alive.

My head pounded, but I looked around and tried to move my limbs. Everything worked, and I quickly realized that I wasn’t in the river.

I was in a small boat.

I tried to remember how I got there, but I couldn’t. I tried to remember jumping, but I couldn’t remember hitting the water. All I knew was that I was lying in a small boat, and I was hurt.

I could see that the boat had a small wooden cabin in the middle, with a door made of worn wood and a brass doorknob. I slowly dragged myself across the wooden floor, and I opened the creaking door.

Inside, the cabin was dark, but I stumbled around until I found a small table with a lighted oil lamp. There was a matchbox next to it. I tried the first match, but it broke. The second match fell on the floor, and the third lit up.

With shaking hands, I lit the wick, and the cabin was bathed in light. I rubbed my eyes, and I slowly looked around.

There was a bed, a table for cooking, a wooden wardrobe, and a porcelain toilet. There was also a small ladder leading up to the poop deck, but it was locked with an iron lock.

I was confused. This boat didn’t seem to have an owner. I could see rotting food on the table, a rotted-out toothbrush next to the toilet, and a stack of dirty dishes. It looked like the owner had left in a hurry.

But where was I going to go? I thought about my situation, and I decided to spend the night. My head hurt from the fall, and I was cold, but I quickly fell asleep.

It was morning, and I was freezing. I slowly got out of bed, and my muscles hurt. I tried to remember everything again, but I couldn’t.

I slowly opened the wardrobe, and I was shocked. It was full of women’s clothes, and they looked just like me. I tried on a dress with a floral print, and it fit perfectly. I stared at myself in a rotted-out mirror.

I was grieving my own death.

I fell to my knees. I felt like I was losing my mind, and I couldn’t understand what was going on. But one thought kept echoing in my brain.

*Where was I going to go?*

I opened the door and stumbled out of the cabin, but I quickly stopped.

The water around me was thick and black. I stared in confusion, and I looked around. The boat had moved while I slept, and I couldn’t recognize the surroundings.

The river was lined with a thick fog, but I thought I saw something. It looked like a bridge, but it was old and crumbling. The stones were covered in moss and ivy, and I could barely see it.

But why was the river so black? I stared at the water, and I was filled with a creeping sense of dread.

There was something in the water.

I shivered and went inside, but I couldn’t sleep. I paced back and forth, and tried to calm down. But my heart pounded, and I kept thinking about the water.

I ran out of the cabin, and I stared at the water. I was filled with a growing sense of unease. Something was moving beneath the surface.

I couldn’t see it, but I felt it. It was coming closer. I quickly went inside, and I locked the cabin door. But the silence was suffocating. I kept thinking about the water, and what was moving beneath the surface.

I knew I couldn’t stay in the cabin, but I had nowhere else to go. I paced back and forth until I stumbled. I fell, and I felt a sharp pain in my head. When I woke up, I was lying in bed.

I slowly got up, and I went outside. The sky was pitch black, and I shivered at the sight. It could only be night, but the darkness was suffocating.

But then I saw it.

There was a light in the distance, and it grew bigger with each second. It was like nothing I had ever seen before.

I stared in awe, and I stumbled to the edge of the boat. The light was coming from the river, and I shivered at the sight. But I couldn’t look away.

It was beautiful, but it was also terrifying. The light was coming closer, and I kept thinking about what was moving beneath the surface. And then I was blinded.

I stumbled across the deck, and I fell. I covered my eyes, and I was filled with a creeping sense of dread.

I knew this place, and it was from a dream.

When I opened my eyes, I was in a beautiful garden. The sky was a deep blue, and the sun was shining brightly. There was a small pond next to me, and a statute stood in the middle. I could see a small cave in the background, and I shivered.

I knew this place. I had been here before, but I couldn’t remember why.

I slowly stumbled around the garden, and I tried to remember. The statue was of a woman in a beautiful dress, and the pond was filled with clear water. But the cave in the background made me shiver.

I slowly stumbled around the garden, until I fell to my knees. I kept thinking about why I was here.

I had to remember.

I closed my eyes and tried to remember, but it was futile. I kept thinking about the water, and what was moving beneath the surface. But the cave in the background made me feel sick.

I slowly got up, and I stumbled towards the cave. But I was paralyzed with fear, and I couldn’t move. I slowly fell to my knees, and I closed my eyes.

I tried to calm down, but I kept thinking about the woman in the boat. It was like nothing I had ever experienced before.

But then I remembered something.

My uncle used to tell me stories when I was a kid, but I had never believed them. And one of them was about this place.

But where was I? And why was I here?

I slowly opened my eyes, and I stared at the cave. But then I saw it.

A woman was standing next to the cave. She stared at me, but she didn’t move. I slowly got up, and I fell again.

When I woke up, I was lying in my own bed. And for a second, I thought it was all a dream. But then I looked at my hands.

They were covered in scratches and bruises. I slowly got out of bed, and I stumbled to the bathroom. I opened the wardrobe, and my clothes from the boat were there.

I slowly opened the door, but I was shaking with fear. I stumbled to the balcony, and I looked over the edge.

There was a short distance to the floor, and I shivered at the sight. But then I saw something.

There was a note on the railing. I slowly picked it up, and it said something I will never forget.

*I know you’re home. Don’t jump again.*

When I read the note, everything came back to me. I was grieving the death of my mom, and I was heartbroken. That’s why I jumped in the first place. I shivered at the thought, but then I looked out over the city.

I would never end my own life. I knew that much. I would never give up again, and I would always look for help. I folded the note and put it in my pocket, and I slowly went back inside.

It would be okay. I knew that much.

But then I heard the noise.

It sounded like someone was talking in the background, but I couldn’t quite hear it. I shivered and tried to ignore it, but it was getting louder. I tried to go back to sleep, but I couldn’t.

I slowly opened my eyes, and I fell silent. There was a man standing in front of my bed, and his face was twisted in a grotesque grimace.

I tried to scream, but my voice was frozen. And then I saw it.

There was something moving beneath his skin. I fell silent, and my eyes were wide with horror. And then I fell silent.

I knew that I wasn’t home. I was back in the boat.

But I was no longer alone.
