What's your favorite go-to homework excuse?

I've taught high school for over 20 years, and I've seen it all on what kids say to avoid having a homework zero.<br><br>The most recent one this week was: "Oh, my brother REALLY needed my binder for a presentation, and I didn't have time to go buy a new one. It's at my grandma's house, and my parents refused to drive me there to get it because they said I should have thought of that this morning."<br><br>How many of you have heard this one? What's the silliest excuse you have ever heard?<br><br>[ETA]: I decided to post this after a rather sarcastic response from a fellow teacher. I was going for a bit of levity, but got some back instead
