why I’m not getting any new Christmas decorations this year

I saw someone talk about what I hear all the time “this year I’m going to buy all new decorations, new tree toppers, new ornaments, new lights!”<br><br>I know some people do this every year and I just don’t know why. I love decorating my house for the holidays and have been the same for over 20 years. I love all of our decorations and each one has a memory or story behind it. <br><br>I have been decorating our home with my parents decorations since the first time we decorated our small apartment in 2005 (we had no money). But I found that I had collected so many beautiful ornaments over the years I ran out of room on our 7ft tree. So we get a second one if I remember correctly 10ft. <br><br>All I can think of when people want to get new decorations is all the plastic waste from the new stuff, all the space the old one will take up, all the money you’re spending on something you already have. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea to re-use the same decorations but I think it’s so important to help our environment and I just wish more people would see that. So this year I’m going to clean, dust, and re-use our decorations and if I’m lucky enough to have grandbabies one day they will have the same intentional memories that I had with my parents when we decorated the house.<br><br>edit:<br><br>Wow that’s insane!
