A Chambers user went undercover at Amazon's 10 day mandatory training facility for new employees

Here's what they had to say:<br><br>> By day 3, your idiot coworkers will become an emotional burden. They’ll stop being able to follow directions. They’ll lose their fucking minds. They’ll cry and become belligerent towards each other and you. The trainers will start talking to them like children. Their brains will turn into fucking mush. A lot of it has to do with sleep deprivation, but it’s also part of the design of the training program.<br><br>> By day 7, you’ll stop giving a fuck. You’ll realize the training is useless. The vast majority of what you learn in training will become useless once you’re on the warehouse floor. At that point, you’ll be trained by your team.<br><br>> By day 8, it will sink in that you now work for a giant, faceless corporation that doesn’t care about your life, health, well-being, or living situation. Your soul will be crushed.<br><br>> By day 10, you’ll realize you’re working for the evil corp in District 9.<br><br>> After that, you’ll go to the warehouse you’ll be working at.<br><br>> By day 1, it will sink in that you’ll be walking 10-15 miles a day at a fast pace. You’ll have constant pressure to go faster. Your feet will hurt and bleed. You won’t be able to walk after work. You’ll go home, go to bed, wake up the next day, and repeat the process until you can’t take it anymore.<br><br>> By day 2, you’ll realize they don’t care about your body or health. You’ll be forced to stand up for 10 hours straight, with a half hour for lunch, and two 15 minute breaks. They won’t let you sit, even if you have health issues. They don’t care.<br><br>> By day 3, you’ll realize you’re a replaceable part. They don’t care if you live or die. They don’t care if you get injured. They’ll fire you if you get injured.<br><br>> By the end of your second week, you’ll stop eating dinner. You won’t have the energy to cook, and you won’t be able to walk to a fast food joint or convenience store.<br><br>> By the end of the month, you’ll stop showering.<br><br>> By the end of the second month, you’ll stop giving a fuck. You won’t give a fuck about anything or anyone. Amazon’s whole “customer obsession thing” is a load of bullshit. The way they talk about their customers, they make it seem as if their customers are some kind of fucking idol or deity. They aren’t.<br><br>> Once you get to your station, you’ll realize you’re a replaceable part in a huge machine. No one gives a fuck about you.<br><br>> You’ll get two consecutive days off every two weeks. But you’ll be in so much pain and so tired that you’ll just sleep on those days off.<br><br>> At some point, you’ll accept that you’ll be working at Amazon for the rest of your life. You’ll accept that you’ll die at Amazon. You’ll accept it because you won’t have any energy to do anything else. You won’t be able to look for another job. You’ll give up.<br><br>> Once you give up, you’ll lose your will to live. Your brain will turn into fucking mush.
