If you took a year off from learning a language, how do you get back into it?

I have been studying Mandarin Chinese for roughly 6 years and then I took a year off because of work and just getting my life together. This year, I’ve moved to China and am seeking out opportunities to speak with locals. I also have found an amazing tutor who will help me improve my speak and reading. Any advice on how to dive back into the deep end?
