I practiced my Italian by telling a cashier she’s beautiful

It’s pretty basic Italian so you don’t have to be a native Italian speaker to understand what I said. I’m a 17 year old male and the lady was probably 40 years old or so. I’m bilingual in Italian and English, so I decided it was time to practice my Italian. I went to the checkout and I said “posso pagare per favore?” which is can I pay please. I give her my food and my money. She takes it and then she says “you can pay with card as well you know”. I responded “I know, but I carry cash with me” and she says “ok”. I ask her “come stai?” and she responds “I’m tired, it’s been busy”. She gives me the change and the receipt. Then I told her “ you know you’re beautiful right?” she just smiled and said “grazie” and I said “ciao bella”. She smiled again and said “ciao”. After I practiced my Italian I went to my car and I was like “wow... I just called a 40 year old woman beautiful... this is my proudest moment ever”
