AITA for laughing at a roast that was "over the line"?

My brother "Jim" is a stand-up comedian and he recently had a show in our town so my whole family came out to support him.<br><br>During his set he did some jokes about me (that I had told him it was okay to do). He roasted my job, my lack of dating and some other things about me that were funny and obviously not mean-spirited.<br><br>The issue is after one of his jokes about me a man in the back shouted "you resent your brother!" <br><br>A little later on Jim made another joke about me (something about my height) and the same man shouted "see, you DO resent your brother!"<br><br>Other people in the audience started to get uncomfortable and my parents were giving him looks to shut up and stop interrupting the show. <br><br>Jim addressed the man and said "hey, I'm just roasting my brother it's okay." and this guy yells back "no, you're resentful of him. I have an impression." <br><br>At this point I decided to try and have a bit of fun. So I yelled out "hey, I've got an impression of you, watch this!" and then I just treated the rest of my beer and pretended I didn't notice him.<br><br>To me it was a pretty clear roast and the person you're roasting is supposed to take it. But apparently this guy thought it was mean-spirited and that I was a dick for treating my own beer.<br><br>He left the show early and later on one of Jim's friends told him that the guy was a method actor and he was just trying to be in character.<br><br>This became a big issue when we met up at my parent's house after the show. The guy wasn't there but his wife was (I assume they drove together). I think she recognized me and she went up to my mom and told her that her husband is a method actor and when he's in character he "sometimes can't differentiate between the character and reality" and that I should have been more compassionate.<br><br>My parents were pretty much on her side and telling me that I should have handled it better.
