My friend’s mom asked me “Hey did you go to school with billy?” And I said “No I’ve never even heard of billy” and she said, in a completely serious tone “Oh nvm then he’s dead anyway”

She wasn’t even being ironic or sarcastic. She seriously didn’t remember who I was and honestly seemed like she was about to ask me what my name was just to confirm. Then, when she realized who I was, she looked like she was about to ask me a question about billy and then remembered that he was dead and just dropped it right there. Mind you this was all at a party for my friend who had just had a baby so it was a celebration of his baby but this lady reminded us all that death is inevitable and we could all be next at ANY MOMENT. Rest in peace billy.
