My student is great at math, but horrible at everything else. How do I help him?

This may not be the right sub for this. I am a math teacher, first year. I have a student who is great at math but struggles in other subjects. He is very bad at reading, writing, and has no “life skills.” I am trying to help him with these because I think he has the capacity to be great at these subjects as well, but I don’t want to go overboard and stray too far away from my subject material. But I don’t want to see this kid fall through the cracks either.<br><br>Edit: thank you for the advice, very helpful. I think I’m going to go to his English teacher first thing tomorrow and ask her what types of thing she is seeing from him in her class.
