American here - I've gotten a few passive-aggressive looks towards me this week.. and I'm wondering if people from other countries are also getting treated differently? (Update)

Update - Well this was a good discussion. A good conversation. I hope people that think that all Americans are the same, or that the fault of all Americans is Trump, treated all people with respect and dignity. <br><br>I put myself out there to see what treatment people are getting. I don't appreciate the hate I am getting for asking how people are being treated. <br><br>I'm going to put myself out there. I'm treated badly here living in China. People seem to think that I am Chinese, but all of a sudden am not once they find out that I am American. I've had people throw things at me, spit in my direction, and discriminate against me. <br><br>And you all can't relate to going through this? <br><br><br> tldr; - I've gotten a few passive-aggressive looks towards me this week and I am wondering if people from other countries treated differently.<br><br>  <br><br>Hi all! <br><br> American here going to university in Northern China. Pretty much all of China has opened back up, and things seem to be back to normal here. <br><br>There was a lot of racism towards Chinese students all over the world - and all over China. There seem to be a negative attitude towards Chinese people all over the world. <br><br> I've seem to have treated differently after Wuhan erupted in China. I notice people giving me passive-aggressive stares. I've gotten looks that seem threatening. <br><br> I take the subway towards my university everyday. And there is this one lady that sells vegetables who always says hello to me. We always chat about how the weather treated us that day, etc. towards the end of the month, she would give me free vegetables towards the end of the month. <br><br> I went to the grocery store, and towards the end of the month, she didn't talk to me. In fact - she gave me the coldest stare towards me. <br><br> I've also been treated differently by the teachers at my university. <br><br> I am wondering if people outside of China are treated differently because of the coronavirus?
