I think I was almost kidnapped at a mall

It was thanksgiving black Friday so the mall was super crowded. I was around 15 years old and my friends and I were splitting up to go to different stores. As I had to meet up with my friends, I started walking around the mall. I saw a man who probably around his 30s coming towards me. At first I thought he was a mall cop because he was wearing a yellow security vest and a badge. He approached me and asked if I was lost and needed help finding my parents. I thought it was strange but I just told him I was fine and going to meet up with my friends. He started walking with me and kept insisting that I tell him where my parents were. I told him I was good and he could go. Then he grabbed my arm. I pushed him off me and started to run. I ran to the first store I saw and went inside. I didn’t stop running until I found my friends in the food court. I told them what happened and we went and told mall security. They took me to a back room and talked to me. They said there is no one in the mall who is a security guard with a yellow vest. They said the person I talked to was probably a mall cop but the vest he had was not standard for mall cops. They took down some information from me and said they’d send an email out to all the security guards to be on the lookout. I stayed at the mall for a few more hours but I never saw him again. I never heard back from mall security so idk what happened.
