Highschool graduation ceremonies are becoming too much

It seems that parents are trying to outdo each other with how amazing their kid is. I don’t understand why we need to watch slideshow presentations and hear the life story of my cousin on the jumbotron before they accept their diploma. It’s supposed to be a celebration for everyone in the class. Not just some kid who’s parents donated $20,000 to the school district. It’s over the top. And really unnecessary.
