What is the point of the slow mode?

First of all a big disappointment with GPT-4. AI has lost a lot of its magic, it's like a soulless robot. <br><br>The "slow" mode is not the reason why people are so disappointed. The AI will continue to perform poorly in this mode. <br><br>I use the fast mode because I need fast response times. I have work to do. A 10x slower AI is not what people are looking for. That is not the problem. <br><br>Open GPT is now the only instance that really makes sense to use, but it is not free. <br><br>The free mode is exactly what people are complaining about, but it is not the speed that is the problem. It is that " Experimental AI" is complete garbage. <br><br>So, it is either Open GPT, or a subscription to one of the faster modes. Were the humans who came up with this idea trying to save face? The free mode is not something anyone will use. It is inferior. <br><br>Since if you go for the subscription, the slow mode won't matter, because you won't be using it anymore. Since the slow mode is inferior, it is not a valid option. Stop pretending people have a choice. Open GPT will not be free for long.
