Can't get out of my head that Lucien Lucius was a real human being

I saw a documentary on HP Lovecraft last week and since then I've been obsessed with it. I don't know if this is an annoying topic, but I'm a complete newbie in the subject and I think it's worth mentioning in a place where people are more familiar with the subject than me. Lucien Lucius didn't exist, or at least I couldn't find any records of him. What's more, it is believed that Lovecraft didn't even have it in his plans. Two or three years before his death, according to Wikipedia, he had a dream in which he was placed in a large underground chamber surrounded by grotesque, liquefied creatures.
