I just turned 19 and threw all my savings into a savings account, that's what I'm supposed to do, right?

Hey guys, I just turned 19 and threw all my savings into a savings account. It's about $2200, and I have it in a savings account with a 3.5% APY. I'm not sure what to do with it though. I still live at home, but I have plans to maybe get an apartment next year. I don't want to touch it at all though, I want to let it sit for now. I'm still in school and I have a part time job, so I have to budget that money around as well. I'm pretty confused on what to do, but I feel like this is a good start. I also have a Roth IRA account that I plan to put a bit of money in every year to contribute to it. Any helpful advice is appreciated!

EDIT: Thank you everyone for the advice, I think I'll look into a brokerage account and put a bit into it. And I'll definitely put some into my IRA. I'll also budget around my savings as well, thank you all for your great advice.
