Throwaway so I don't get judged. I'm 27, 2 children, husband, and we're currently living outside of USA for 2.5 years due to my husbands job.

Before I get to the point, I'm from a middle class family in the USA. We didn't struggle, but we didn't have much. My parents were able to give me and my siblings a roof over our heads and food on the table. We didn't have much disposable income and we didn't really get luxury things like a lot of other people. I didn't go to college so I was able to get a job after high school and support myself.

I got married at 22 and my husband and I have similar income. We combined our income and started building up our savings slowly after building up a emergency fund. My husband got a really good job offer and is able to cover our expenses now. I stay at home with our kids so I've been focusing on finding ways to save money.

I've been able to save us about 80% of our income each month and we've been able to put away about $375k by now.

When will you consider yourself rich? Will you consider yourself rich if you were in my shoes? Or besides being able to afford the necessities, what luxury things do you want to have?
