I work for the federal government as a contract reviewer and what I've found so far in the past two months using ChatGPT

So I did detailed contract reviews to make sure all the information is on the contract files for our team, so we can award contracts with relative ease. Before I started using ChatGPT, I would go through 10-15 contracts a day. I've checked my count for the past two months using ChatGPT, did 99 contracts by the end of last month and by the end of this month did 118. I can only imagine how many more I can do in a day with the ChatGPT upgrade.

I just changed my review process to save time and cut down on having to go through the same paragraphs. I would copy the entire contract and paste it in ChatGPT, provide the request for proposal number (RFP) and name of the contracting officer and the contract number. ChatGPT would pull out the contract number, RFP number, contract award date, contract end date, project manager, and request for proposal name. It would also show me if there were any issues in the contract, or if the contract was fully executed by the federal government. I would then copy and paste all the details in a new word document, and put them in the contract files and do the reviews. I would also take notes on the important points of the contract, and save it as a separate document.

Another thing I did was copy the the proposal reviews from the federal contractors, and it would show me each proposal reviewer did and what the score was for the contract. I would copy that information and paste it in the contract files as well and it would all be organized in one place.

I have also started to think about how I can use it to predict who gets their contract renewed by looking at the contract start date, end date and detailed proposal reviews. I'm not sure how accurate it would be but I would like to test it out.

I did have a few issues with it pulling everything out for me. Firstly, the federal government and its contractors all started using the same contract template. The template caused issues for ChatGPT, it would pull out the contract start date, but detailed proposal reviews would be difficult to pull out as the template is the same in every contract. I would have to use the browser extension instead, and sometimes it would pull out more information than just the proposal reviews. I would also have issues if the contract was not fully executed, and ChatGPT would pull out incomplete information.

Overall, ChatGPT has been so effective in doing my job, I've never been able to do reviews as fast as I have in the past two months. I did have issues with ChatGPT, but it doesn't impact my results.
