I didn't know being a teenage mom was so common

I've been trying to get pregnant for almost a year, I'm 16. people always said that if you didn't have a lot of sex you wouldn't get pregnant right away. But I've been trying for so long, and I think me and my bf were going to try a different timing method. I didn't think you could get pregnant while on your period if you were trying to conceive. people tell me that it's a rare occurrence but you can get pregnant while on your period.
