CMV: The American Left-Right political paradigm is nothing more than an illusion to make you feel as though you have a choice in the grand scheme of politics. Both parties overall serve the same corporate/billionaire interests.

The way I see it, both parties overall pander to their corporate donors, Billionaires, and overall serve the same interests. The difference is they pander to different people to do so. Republicans tend to pander to Christians and conservative individuals on hot button social issues (Abortion, Gay Marriage, Immigration, etc.) and use these social issues as a way to get elected while Democrats pander to more socially liberal people on those same issues. Once either a Republican or Democrat is in office, they serve the same interests overall and vote on the same bills that overall benefit the wealthy and large corporations, and if there are any dissenters, they are often silenced by the corporate media or hounded out of office. The common narrative that the Democrats are for the working class and Republicans are for the wealthy and corporations is a lie.<br><br>I'd love for someone to change my view on this, if you can convince me otherwise I'll reward you with those lovely little chambers trophies.<br><br>Edit: Had a few people ask what I think we should do in response, so to clarify I support a wealth tax, and I would also like to see the government really crack down on corporations and the wealthy as far as bribery goes.
