*My wife is a horrible cook*.

Her father is a horrible cook. Her mother is an excellent cook.

*My wife is a horrible cook*.

My father is a horrible cook. My mother is an excellent cook.

*My wife is a horrible cook*.

But the thing is, her mother is an excellent cook. And her mother never helped my wife learn to cook. My wife never had any inkling that she wanted to cook - apparently because she had such horrible experiences with my father-in-law's cooking.

So she never bothered to learn. She didn't know I was an avid cook, but she said she was an avid cook. (She isn't.) She made me some disgusting chicken breasts and potatoes - and she said she picked up some cooking knowledge from her mother - apparently not. (And she specifically said "I'm just like my mom"). But she specifically said her mother never taught her to cook.

I picked up some cooking knowledge from my father, but apparently not. He was shit at cooking.

I teach the boys to cook all of the time. My son knows how to make a simple chicken parmesan. (But he's not specifically interested in cooking apparently - although he is pretty good at it although he doesn't like to do it. Oh well.)

But my wife still sucks at cooking.
