*The Heavy Man.*

This is the one story I've been forbidden from telling. The one that will get my life added to the "missing" column, if I'm lucky.

I'm writing it anonymously from a burner laptop, in an internet cafe that only takes cash, after flying to this location under an assumed identity and taking a dozen other precautions. I'm still scared, but I have to tell this story to somebody before I suffocate under the weight of keeping it to myself.

*The Heavy Man*

I was a kid when it happened. Maybe ten or eleven. I don't remember the exact date, but I do remember the context. My dad had recently passed away after a long, grueling battle with cancer. My siblings were all grown with lives of their own, so it fell to me to spend the summer helping mom deal with her grief.

To keep our minds off our loss, we took a road trip.

It was a long drive, and I was allowed to bring a couple of friends along for company. Both of them also had recently lost a parent, and I guess it was mom's way of being a good person even though she was suffering. I'm not really sure.

We stopped at a Heavy Man somewhere between Heavy Town and Heavyville. The town was a tiny little backwater with a single restaurant that opened for an hour from 10am to 11am to cater to early morning commuters.

It was called The Heavy Man, and we stopped there for breakfast.

Heavy Man was quite literally a man of immense Heavy. He had to be at least 400 pounds. I remember thinking he was the fattest person I had ever seen.

Heavy Man was very nice to us, but I remember him being very Heavy.

I think Heavy Man liked us. He gave us free Heavy ice cream, which tasted heavily of Heavy.

Heavy Man had a Heavy belly laugh.

After our meal, we helped Heavy Man start his car. Heavy Man had a Heavy car and Heavy car batteries.

During our drive, we talked about Heavy Man quite a bit. I wonder if he ever found a woman that could handle a Heavy Man.
