What are people with no kids, no debt, a decent 401k and a decent income doing to not be able to afford anything anymore?

I dont see how it costs $50 to cook dinner for two people at home. Or why 6 oz of frozen fish costs 21.50. Or why 1lb of frozen chicken breasts costs 19.00. 6 frozen chicken breasts for that price. 3.30/breast.
I see people on social media with no kids, no debt and a moderate income living with roommates in 600 sqft apartments. Or a 25 year old with her 401k maxed out, has no debt, and can’t afford to buy groceries for a week because she bought a 1500 dollar purse.

Im 38, no kids, I live with my husband in a 600 sqft apt and we barely scrape by. We both make moderate 60s-80s income, 401k max and we barely scrape by. I dont have a car, my husband works from home with me. Cant people with 60s-80s income and no kids or debt do anything about it and afford anything? It costs 30.00 to drink a glass of wine with dinner, and cook a 5 pound bag of chicken breasts because they rip you off with 6oz packages with the 5 pound bag with 8 breasts for 25.00. It’s a joke. And no one can afford anything. Why are they not complaining, this is ridiculous.
