2 years of student teaching/being an assistant and I just found out how to correctly "break in" laminated sheets.

This is just embarrassing and I'm not sure how I haven't figured this out in 2 years. I saw the teacher I work with struggle with this same issue, but she still does it wrong.

Here's the wrong way: hold the sheet in your hands vertically, and struggle to break the seal by tugging on the top edge of the laminated sheet.

This is the correct way: lay the laminated sheet on a desk or table. Hold the plastic in both hands on either side of the seal, with your thumbs on the laminated side of the plastic. Then, push your thumbs into the laminated side of the plastic, away from you. It should break the seal and you can then easily separate the two plastic halves.

If you knew about this already, why didn't you tell me?

If you use the wrong method... you're welcome.

Edit: 1. I know I could just use the school laminator. I'm just a student teacher/assistant and the teachers I work with have me laminate things with wet laminators to keep me busy in the afternoons.

2. I use this laminator: Scotch Thermal Laminator 2 Roller System, Desktop Volume, Fast Warm-Up, Quick Laminating Speed, (TL906VP)
